I Live In A GREEN House!

Well, I've lived in a yellow house, a peach house (oohh the 80's), and for the last 15 years a white house but now it's a green house for the Larsen family. I think some of the neighbors think it fits our rather BOLD personality and others are just damned glad we finally painted. Everything looks so good against the dark color - especially


our lovely pink flamingo! We still have a few touch ups here and there and oh we have definitely decided that we need to retire the plant table Kirk made for Colleen and I acquired almost 10 years ago!
No, you aren't drunk - that table has a severe leaning problem! Thanks to online shopping and free shipping a new one should be here next weekend.
Happy Labor Day to all! Some of us will be doing our part to "labor" this weekend. Check out the top photo of our beautiful new siding. When the installers ripped out the old stuff we found the only thing between where the siding had been and the 1/4" paneling in the living room behind it was a whole lot of air! No wonder everyone is always freezing in our house! The boys are pulling the paneling down and replacing it with insulation and drywall over the weekend. Guess what I'm doing? I'm off to the Scrapbook Expo with my new scrapping buddy Jan! Have fun boys!

Coming Together Nicely!

So I'm really loving the new family room/dining room combination. Ordered a new sliding glass door tonight and Mark is still working on trying to get just the right match on the molding for the dining room but other than that we are just about done. Laura and I had a blast at IKEA and Target picking out new pillows, area rug, etc. this weekend. Of course, IKEA has decided not to carry our chair cover any longer but I was able to get this one online today.
Best part of all is that I now have time to scrap! Whoo Hoo!

Almost Done

Well I managed to get Mark to reluctantly agree to help me today. He claims because this was my idea I should have to do it all. Once I started trying to use the mitre saw and saw the baseboards he decided to step in. I'm loving the look of the family room.

It reminds me of raspberry sherbet! The fireplace is all done with the paintbrush but I still need to roll the bricks and the middle part. The two-tone bricks look wild right now!
The new sliding glass door won't be here for 3 more weeks but they assure me the paint will be fine. Best part for us was that we finally all ate together in the dining room tonight. First time in about 10 days!

Looked at moulding today for the chair rails but couldn't find anything I like. Off to take a shower and get ready to go back to work tomorrow! Boo Hoo!

Hurts My Eyes!

No, not the view of my big ass (although it is very scary) - no checkout what was under the wallpaper in the dining room.






No, it's not more wallpaper - it's some one's attempt at being artsy fartsy with a stencil and a roller and a very bad color choice. The color reminds me of baby poop gone wrong. Andrew says it looks like something out of an old western saloon. Man, I can't get that primer on fast enough.
