No matter how much things get out of hand cost wise or how crazy life can get around the holidays, for me it isn’t truly Christmas without a real Christmas tree. There is just nothing to compare to that terrific smell of pine when you come home. I miss the days when the four of us would go hunt for the perfect tree at the “cut your own” tree lot. Ever since our favorite family run tree was lost in the 2003 Cedar fire we have been going to wherever was closest to home with the best deal. Our tree is also smaller these days as we take advantage of the table we have already in the living room to act as our holder for the tree. We’ve had everything from all white lights, multi-colored lights and even a few years when we had lights that blinked to the tune of Christmas carols! This year Laura asked Mark to put our old fashioned big multi-colored lights on.

AMEN, SISTA!! Make mine real, too! :) Love the design of your page -- and you've got an AWESOME picture!!!
Thanks SUsanne. I actually had a hard time getting the settings right on the camera. I wanted more of a nighttime twinkling lights type view but the picture never looked good without the flash.
We have always only had real trees too! Love the smell and how they are not quite perfect! Keeps things real ya know :)
