They're Up . . .

And they are looking beautiful - the lights are on our house that is. It took longer than usual because we decided to go with all icicle lights in the front as well as in the patio area. I still have one stubborn strand that worked perfectly when I tested it and then when it went up on the house about 100 of the 300 lights decided not to work. So far we are the only ones on our street with lights up. I remember a time no that long ago when all the houses on my side of the street were lit up and we connected lights between the houses for a continuous effect all the way down the street. It's weird - the outside is very festive and inside I still have turkeys and pumpkins up. Too much going on this week to deal with them but come Friday they are gone for 2007 and it's hello my favorite time of the year!
Oh and yes, that's my sprinklers you see watering - it's still very dry here and we are watering in November!

Looks very festive!! My kids beg every year to deck out the house in lights. You know who would be doing that job...that's right, the sista wife!! She ain't climbin' no 50 foot ladder!

Dawn - I'm scared of heights so the ladder climbing is Laura's job. Wait until Ingrid and Anaka are a little older and you can send them up the ladder!

you need a "light keeper pro"...it is this great device my electrical/geek hubby swears by, you use it to relight entire sections that have gone out just by pulling the trigger. I honestly would have never believed such a device would work if I hadn't seen it for myself. It would literally take dh hours in years past to repair light strands, and this year, he probably finished in less than 2. Also, you can fix lights that are already on the house in just seconds. It also tests for breaks in the line. Anyway, just thought I would share, as I know what a headache lights can be. Oh, and I know you can find it at HobbyLobby.

OK it is looking great. we do not do outside lights. Always wanted to but not enough to d it myself. LOL Roger has no desire. I am now in the process of gathering my decorations for inside. weeding through them, since they haven't been used in several years, and then going out and starting to buy some new ones. we will be festive this year

OK Dawn - we're going to Hobby Lobby when I'm in MA this spring - I need one of those "lightkeeper pro" thingies. We don't have Hobby Lobby here or I'd go get one today!
